Connecting your Apple Developer account

Every submission goes through your own Apple Developer account. Quiny does not publish apps under its own team and never acts as the publisher of your app. Connecting takes about ten minutes once Apple has approved your enrollment.

Step 1. Enroll in the Apple Developer Program

1. Go to developer.apple.com/programs/enroll and sign in with the Apple ID you want to own the app.
2. Choose Organization if you are enrolling a company, or Individual if you trade under your own name. Organizations need a D-U-N-S number, which Apple can look up for you, and someone with legal authority to sign.
3. Pay the annual fee. It is 99 US dollars a year, or the local equivalent.
4. Wait for approval. Individuals are usually approved within a day. Organizations take one to three working days while Apple checks the company.

Quiny prompts you to start this while your screens are still being built, so it is ready by the time you approve the fifth one.

Step 2. Accept Apple's agreements

1. Sign in at appstoreconnect.apple.com as the Account Holder.
2. Open Business, then Agreements. Accept the Paid Apps agreement if your app will take any payment inside it, and add your bank and tax details there. Free apps only need the standard agreement.

Step 3. Create a key for Quiny

1. In App Store Connect open Users and Access, then Integrations, then App Store Connect API.
2. Under Team Keys press the plus button. Name the key Quiny and give it the App Manager role. Do not give it Admin.
3. Press Generate, then download the key file. It ends in .p8 and Apple lets you download it once, so keep it safe.
4. Note the Key ID shown next to the key and the Issuer ID shown at the top of the page.

Step 4. Connect it in Quiny

1. In the console open Settings, then Connections, then Apple Developer.
2. Paste the Issuer ID and the Key ID, and upload the .p8 file.
3. Press Connect. Quiny checks the key, shows your team name, and lists exactly what the App Manager role lets it do: create the app record, upload builds, write the listing, submit for review, read review messages. It cannot touch your other apps, your payments or your team members.

Quiny creates the signing certificate and provisioning profile through this key, so there is nothing to install on a Mac.

Step 5. Submit

When all five screens are approved, type "submit it". The app record, the build, the screenshots and the listing appear in your App Store Connect under your team. Apple emails you, not Quiny, when review finishes.

Removing access

Either press remove in Settings, then Connections, or revoke the key in App Store Connect under Users and Access, then Integrations. The app and everything in it stays exactly as it is.

If something does not match

• "Key is not valid" usually means the .p8 belongs to a different Key ID, or the key was revoked. Generate a new one.
• "Agreement missing" means the Paid Apps agreement has not been accepted, or bank details are incomplete. Finish it under Business, then Agreements.
• "Bundle ID in use" means an app with the same identifier already exists on your team. Tell Quiny in the prompt line and it picks another.
