Connecting Instagram

Updated Sep 9, 2026

Instagram is how most small shops already show their brand. Connecting it lets Quiny read your photos and captions so the three design directions look like you from the first screen, and so product photos can come from posts you have already taken.

Quiny only reads. It never posts, likes, follows or messages on your behalf.

Steps

  1. In the console open Settings, then Connections, then Instagram.
  2. Press Connect. You are sent to Instagram to sign in. Business and Creator accounts connect directly; a personal account is asked to switch to a Professional account first, which is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app under Settings, then Account type.
  3. Approve the permissions. Quiny asks to read your profile and your media, nothing else.
  4. Back in Quiny, choose how far back to read. The last 60 posts is the default and is plenty.

What Quiny takes from it

  • The palette and the mood of your photography, which shape the three design directions.
  • Product photos, offered to you when a product has no picture yet. Nothing is used without you approving the screen it appears on.
  • Your bio and captions, to match the way you write.

Everything lands in the knowledge tree under Brand, where you can see and edit it.

Removing access

Settings, then Connections, then remove next to Instagram, or remove Quiny under Apps and Websites in your Instagram settings. Photos already approved into screens stay in the app.
